Mediaeval fun and games
Turn back the hands of time and, together with your team, embark on a journey back into the Middle Ages. In a castle surrounded by the atmosphere of centuries gone by, enjoy a fascinating experience you’ll remember for a long time to come. Follow in the steps of Robin Hood and Prince Valiant and, in groups, participate in a Mediaeval knights’ tournament. In order to defend yourselves you need some armoury, and so the day begins by creating your own group crest and painting it onto a shield. And in order to really get you into the mood and team spirit, you and your team members will be kitted out with Mediaeval-style tabards during the event.
Classic skills of a knight
Test your sense of balance on the beam while jabbing your lance or try your hand at being a Mediaeval marksman and practice your aim with a crossbow. Have a go at axe or horseshoe throwing, or pit yourself against competitors in archery using English longbows. Highly successful in England during the 13th and 14th centuries, these bows are very fast and accurate. The ‘egg cracking’ activity involves throwing a stone at an egg set on a tree stump a certain distance away until the egg breaks.
And another thing
As an optional extra after the event we also offer a ceremonial Mediaeval banquet worthy of a king. You never know – perhaps someone might even receive a knighthood?
