Alpine lodge magic with fondue
Beautiful snowshoe round trip with magnificent views and fine wood stove fondue in a mountain chalet.
We will meet in Näfels/GL and take a taxi to the Ennetberge mountains − the sunny terrace high above the main canton town of Glarus. Depending on the snow, we will start our snowshoe walk directly behind the Alpenblick restaurant although at the latest at the end of the road in the Emmettschingel at 1,200 m. From here you will be able to enjoy an absolutely breathtaking panorama. This will provide enough motivation for a relaxing stroll across the gentle slopes and short forest paths. Whilst most ski tour groups ascend up to mt. Schilt, we will soon exit this much travelled route and, after a relaxing 2 hour walk, will reach the Mittler Fronalp Alpine lodge at 1,584m.
Has the ascent made you hungry?
Of course! We'll light a fire in the fireplace and put plenty of wood on to make it really cosy. Can you smell the delicious cheese fondue? Mmmmhhhh... you've earned it, "ä Guetä"!
...and an unspoilt forest
Fortified, we walk downhill toward Mulleren, over the Krete, past the Naturfreundehaus and then almost horizontally across to the unspoilt Chumen forest. We continue down to Chenel where we will reach the road again and take a taxi to Näfels/GL. We've also packed flame torches in case it gets dark!
And another thing...
If you want to combine a snowshoe walk with a meeting in simple surroundings and without electricity this event is ideal as you can hold a meeting (for up to 8 persons) in peaceful surroundings in the lodge and won't be disturbed − guaranteed! Or what about a romantic evening snowshoe walk in darkness to the rustic mountain lodge for fun and music? We can also arrange a traditional accordion player for you!
